Sacred Vrat Katha (Full Narrative)
In ancient times lived Rani Veeravati, the deeply cherished sister of seven loving brothers. During her first Karwa Chauth at her parental home, she fasted strictly without water and grew weak as evening approached. Unable to bear her distress, her brothers lit a lantern behind a distant banyan tree and held up a sieve, tricking her into believing the moon had risen.
Veeravati offered Arghya to the illusion. As she took her first morsel, news arrived that her husband had collapsed lifeless. Devastated, Veeravati tended to his body with continuous prayers for an entire year. When the next Karwa Chauth arrived, she observed the fast with flawless devotion. Pleased with her penance, Goddess Parvati touched the king with nectar, restoring his life.
