Sacred Vrat Katha (Full Narrative)
In Dvapara Yuga, the tyrant Kamsa usurped the throne of Mathura. During the wedding procession of his sister Devaki with Vasudeva, a celestial prophecy announced: "O Kamsa! Her eighth son shall be your slayer!" Terrified, Kamsa imprisoned them and cruelly executed their first seven newborns.
At the advent of the eighth child, divine effulgence illuminated the prison cell. At midnight of Shravan Krishna Ashtami under the Rohini Nakshatra, Bhagwan Vishnu manifested in His resplendent four-armed form.
Following the Lord's instruction, Vasudeva took baby Krishna in a wicker basket. Miraculously, chains snapped, heavy gates swung open, and guards slumped into deep slumber. In torrential rain, the multi-headed serpent Sheshnaga shielded the Divine Infant, and the raging Yamuna receded upon touching His lotus feet. Vasudeva reached Gokul safely, exchanging Krishna with Yashoda's newborn girl. The entire universe rejoiced: "Nand Gher Anand Bhayo, Jai Kanhaiya Lal Ki!"
