Sacred Vrat Katha (Full Narrative)
Chapter 1: The Dialogue Between Sage Narada and Lord Vishnu In Naimisharanya, the sages asked Suta Goswami for an efficacious vrata to alleviate mankind's distress in Kaliyuga. Suta revealed the dialogue between Devarshi Narada and Lord Vishnu, wherein the Lord prescribed the Vrata of Lord Satyanarayan to remove all poverty and sorrows.
Chapter 2: The Poor Brahmin Shatananada and the Woodcutter In Varanasi, a poverty-stricken Brahmin was guided by Lord Vishnu appearing as an elderly ascetic. Upon performing the vrata, he attained boundless prosperity. A humble woodcutter witnessed this, resolved to offer his daily earnings, and was blessed with righteous progeny and wealth.
Chapter 3 & 4: Sadhu the Merchant and Kalavati A wealthy merchant vowed to perform the vrata upon fathering a child. His daughter Kalavati was born, but he forgot his sacred vow. While trading at Ratnasarapur with his son-in-law, thieves hid stolen royal treasures in their boat. The king's soldiers arrested them. In repentance, his daughter performed the vrata at home. Lord Vishnu instructed King Chandraketu in a dream to release them with doubled wealth.
Chapter 5: King Tungadhwaja and the Sanctity of Prasad Returning home, Kalavati rushed to see her husband without partaking of the sacred Prasad. Instantly, the boat sank. When she repented and consumed the Prasad, her husband reappeared. Later, King Tungadhwaja ignored the Prasad offered by cowherds; his entire kingdom crumbled until he bowed down in humble prayer with the cowherds and regained his glory. Victory to Lord Satyanarayan!
