Sacred Vrat Katha (Full Narrative)
In a prosperous town lived Sheela, a pious and virtuous woman, and her husband Sumukh. They lived happily until Sumukh fell into bad company, gambling away their wealth and pushing the household into deep destitution. Despite severe adversity, Sheela held steadfast to dharma.
One Friday afternoon, an elderly woman radiating divine grace visited their humble threshold. Sheela served her with deep reverence and shared her sorrow. The elderly woman, who was none other than Mata Mahalakshmi in disguise, comforted her and initiated her into the sacred 'Vaibhav Lakshmi Vrata'. She instructed Sheela to observe Friday fasts for 11 or 21 weeks, worship the Shri Yantra with a gold/silver coin, offer milk kheer, and distribute vrat books during the Udhyapan.
When Sheela bowed, the visitor mysteriously vanished. Realizing it was the Divine Mother, Sheela commenced the vrata with immaculate devotion. Gradually, Sumukh renounced all vices, revived his honest trade, and prosperity returned to their home. Sheela completed the Udhyapan with gratitude. Glory to Mata Vaibhav Lakshmi!
